About CordM
Since 2004 CordM has specialized in marine upholstery and canvas coverings.

CordM is owned and operated by upholsterer,
contract sewing expert Nic Cornell. A proficient marine fitter fabricator with
expertise in commercial and marine upholstery, Nic
has also done extensive work in the fabrication of
boat tops and marine canvas coverings, sail
repair, stainless steel frame fabrication and
retractable awnings. |
Nic has consulted
a number of businesses manufacturing a range of sewn
products including: organic cotton products, shade sails,
stationary and retractable awnings, hammocks, fisheries
products, leather products, hand bags and clothing. His
experience in industrial sewing machine setup, selection,
retiming and adjustment continue to be a valuable resource
to other sewing professionals. He is
often eager to share sewing industry and trade knowledge
with other sewing professionals
and crafts people.
A diversity of connections and a sense of the
overall Canadian textile industry have allowed Nic to help
divert waste and off cut materials from upholstery and
other industrial sewing facilities into upcycled products
manufactured by both CordM and other 'green product'
businesses. Waste diversion and material repurposing is an
area of ongoing interest for Nic. If you have a fabric or
fibre based material or byproduct you don't know what to
do with, Nic may know of someone who can turn it into a
new product or service while giving positive credit to the
source of origin.
In 2012 CordM was relocated from Lunenburg
County, Nova Scotia to Nelson B.C. where Nic and his
family are currently enjoying Kootenay mountain culture
and getting to know their new community.
